Technical Windows Networks and Infrastructure SME. Will be involved in a range of DBS projects working under the Change Support Framework. Full time role based in Bristol with occasional travel to other MOD sites (e.g. Liverpool). The role will be provide infrastructure support on the on-premises platform that hosts the DBS Finance and HR systems. Likely to also be involved in the long-term move to a cloud-based platform. Initial role to 31 March 2020 but likely to extend. SC level security clearance essential (or willingness to apply for clearance).
Project description:
The Change Support Framework is a framework contract under which the SI provides a range of technical services to Defence Business Services. Services include both design and implementation of change projects and BAU support. Systems cover Finance and Procurement (Oracle ERP, Cognos planning, budgeting and forecasting and management reporting), HR (Oracle Payroll and Oracle HRMS) and the DBS platform on which the applications are hosted.
Required skills:
– Deep understanding of Windows & Networks (WANS) design, configuration and implementation
– Expert working knowledge of networking including routers, firewalls, switched and load balancing
– Extensive experience of fault finding and troubleshooting in network environments
– Proven ability of designing network environments including LANs, WANs, security and load balancing solutions
– Operating system installation and configuration
– Environment monitoring and management (both physical and virtualised)
– Firewall management – Hardware installation
Nice to have skills:
– Experience of cloud migration strategy / design
